  Has Anyone Been to Prague?

  well, i'm about to get my first passport stamp.

  my daughter and i are going to prague for christmas.

  we've bought the travel guides and are trying to learn the basics of the czech language.

  Depending on the time of Day,you may need that 7 hour gap just to get to heathrow!!Especially if its early evening.

  Seriously though,it should only take a Hour.Its all Motorway.There will be a shuttle Bus but better still take the Train.

  "two long-awaited studies have found that the [u.s.] roman catholic church suffered an epidemic of child sexual abuse that involved at least 4 percent of priests over 52 years and peaked with the ordination class of 1970, in which one of every 10 priests was eventually accused of abuse," reports the new york times.

  Its a fair point thats been made.No argument there.But isnt saying 23,000 reported AND unreported molesters in the JW religion (ie guilty and alleged)the same as what the wt are saying about Alleged and accused priests in the Catholic Church?

  Seems to me that all Religions suck.

  Im laughing to myself at all this shit.

  But looking back,getting indoctrinated from the age 0f 5(???!!!!)that virtually everything was demonized,its only in the last 2 years or so that i can laugh at this rubbish.What mental abuse,to keep your Kids awake at Night wondering if a Demon is gonna come through the window or some such!

  World War 1 and 1914

  how did it just so happen that a world war took place in the very year that russell had attached so much importance to?

  i realize that he expected 1914 to see the end of the world's governments, and of course that didn't happen, but it still seems to be quite remarkable that this war happened that very year ... a war that would later be construed to be the fulfillment of jesus' prediction in matthew 24:7.. the explanation given on the e-watchman site is that satan deliberately caused the war to happen so as to mislead jehovah's witnesses into thinking they had actually seen the fulfillment of bible prophecy, in order to make them think that jesus had returned invisably.. any ideas?.

  you want to tell me about ww1 look up history of wars. ww1 was far from the worst war till 1914.

  I cant agree with that comment!The sheer technological innovations being brought out(Machine guns,planes,Tanks ,shells etc)meant a slaughter the likes of which had never been seen before !That is why i agree that something was definitely bound to happen in or around 1914.The build up of Arms and especially Navies,meant an arms race lasting for many Years prior to 1914.Of course also,the alliances that were in place ,some 100,s of Years old,some (Britain ,France for instance)very new.

  Old Russell may well have had an inkling many Years before that something big was going to happen.But a spirit anointed ,cast iron Prophecy?Forget it.

  this morning the jw lady (p) and her daughter (m) came over for a second follow-up visit.

  however, this is the first time m has been present for any extensive conversation.

  i'm glad she showed up, though, because some major things happened, and i think if there is any breakthrough forthcoming it will be terrific to see 2 in one family get out at the same time.. .

  I had a few decent ones>I also found that the young superstar Co,s who did the fantastic talks etc were bastards.the crappy Speakers were the ones with the love and concern.

  I dunno why,just seemed that way to me.

  When i stopped going suddenly about 1 1/2 Year ago,the Co then was very concerned.Not in a come back,come back way,just genuinely concerned i wouldnt be happy away from the Religion.He contacted me back in April this year(it was his last visit)and spent time talking about life,love and the universe etc....as soon as i made it clear i would never come back i assumed he would hang up,but he stayed on the line for half hour more talking Football,music etc...and yes it was much more interesting than his Talks!I even have had the odd email from him(FW,s etc)

  A genuine,fine man.

  Found an Awake at the rest stop today..and I knew exactly what to do....

  found it at a rest stop today while traveling.

  i thought about tossing it, but decided it had a much better purpose.

  it was an issue on what to teach your young child - cute picture of a little girl (about 4 years old) on the cover.. so - i took it to my car, got out a pretty purple pen and wrote on the cover "this religion has a major probelm with pedophiles and is hurtful to young children.
